How do I care for my Jewellery?

It’s important to know how to care for your jewellery properly. Pearls are easily abraded and are sensitive to various chemicals and cosmetics. A lack of care can cause them to deteriorate over time.

Care tips:

  • Avoid direct contact with chemicals wherever possible (e.g. perfume, make-up, etc).
  • Check clasps and fasteners move freely frequently.
  • Avoid contact with sharp or abrasive surfaces.
  • Any vigorous or messy activities should be avoided while wearing them.
  • Wipe pearls gently with a soft cloth after every use.
  • Contact with your skin, perspiration & cosmetics can leave an acidic residue which can dull the lustre of your pearls over time.
  • Keep unworn jewellery in a soft pouch, or wrapped in velvet, tissue or silk

Cleaning

Routine cleaning will preserve your jewellery. Cleaning with water should only be undertaken when regular polishing using a soft cloth does not produce the desired result. Excessive cleaning can cause our jewellery to wear. Professional maintenance and cleaning should be undertaken every few years – we offer this service in our workshop and showroom, Contact Us for more.

Can you repair my Jewellery?

Yes, in most instances! Contact Us for more information. In most cases, we will direct you to post your damaged jewellery in a padded envelope to our Broome workshop – PO Box 1502, Broome WA, 6725.

Does my Jewellery come with warranty?

All sales at Pearls & Boheme adhere with your rights as a consumer under Australian Consumer Law. Additionally, you have a lifetime guarantee of repair in most instances.

Note: repairs are not always free, dependent on degree of damage.

Can my Jewellery be adjusted?

Yes, most items. All South Sea Jewellery can be adjusted for sizing, and we offer fully custom curated couture Jewellery.

Our Freshwater Range can not always be adjusted, however we offer a wide range of sizing.

Simply, Contact Us to find out more.
